Intermec Signs Ski Operator Vail Resorts

Intermec Inc., a manufacturer of identification and tracking devices, revealed Tuesday that mountain resort company Vail Resorts will use Intermec scanning equipment to expedite processing of season ticket holders. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Intermec explained that Vail Resorts's lift line operators will utilize Intermec's CN3 mobile computers and IP30 handheld radio frequency identification readers at several Colorado ski resorts, including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly. Intermec said its mobile computers and handheld readers will enable skiers and snowboarders with 2008-09 season passes to get through lines faster and more conveniently—they can even keep their passes inside their jackets. Intermec is headquartered in Everett, Wash.
