Tableau Software in Partnership with Vertica Systems

Tableau Software, a publisher of analytics and data visualization applications, revealed Sunday that its product offerings will be made available to Vertica Systems Inc. customers as the result of a newly formed partnership. Privately backed, Seattle-based Tableau said its flagship visual analytics applications, Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, can now connect directly to Vertica's Analytic Database product line without any special configuring—Tableau's software need only be installed and licensed. As a result of the partnership, Tableau noted, businesses can use both companies' applications to store, explore and analyze huge amounts of data. Headquartered in Billerica, Mass., Vertica Systems develops analytic database management systems that run on industry-standard hardware.
