InFocus Cuts 30 Percent Of Workforce

Wilsonville, Oregon-based InFocus said Monday afternoon that it is making a 30 percent cut in its workforce, starting in January 2009 and completed by the first half of 2009. The firm said the move was part of a plan to restructure the company because of a anticipated slowdown in its fourth quarter 2008 results. InFocus blamed the cuts on global softening in demands for the firm's projectors, along with a continued economic downturn and reduction in spending. The firm says it will take a restructuring charge of $5.3M to $6.1M in the cuts.
