Microsoft Zunes Come Back To Life

Microsoft's 30GB Zune music players have all come back to life, after an embarrassing leap-year glitch which shut down the music players for owners Wednesday morning. According to Microsoft, the shut down--which affected all models of the Zune 30GB and many other Zune players--was due to a bug in the device's internal clock driver. The freeze was an embarrassing end to the year from Microsoft, which has been attempting to take on Apple's iPod music player with its own hardware. In an explanation of the bug on the Zune forums, Microsoft said that the issue was related to its internal clock driver "improperly handling the last day of a leap year." The bug caused every Zune 30GB and others to shut down exactly at 12:01am on December 31st, for 24 hours.
