Microsoft Ships Internet Explorer 8

Microsoft officially launched Internet Explorer 8, the latest version of the firm's web browser software today, saying that it will make the new software available at noon EDT today. According to Microsoft, the newest version of its browser adds significant enhancements in security and blocking of malware, and cuts down on the time required for common web tasks. Among other new features are "Visual search suggestions" on sites such as Amazon.com and Wikipedia, and "Web Slices" which pulls up sites to check on email, weather reports, eBay auctions, and other frequently updated information.
