Pressplane Becomes Inkd

Seattle-based Pressplane, which is backed by Curious Office Partners, Second Avenue, and a number of local angel investors, has officially launched itself as Inkd, saying today that it will provide a marketplace for original print designs. According to the firm, it will offer print designers a way to offer print designs such as letterheads, business cards, brochures, notecards, and other designs to business owners, marketers, and others. Inkd is backed with at least $1.7M in funding from Second Avenue, Mike Salmi, Rich Barton, Erik Blackford, Andy Liu, Alex Algard, Geoff Entress, Andy Sack, Adrian Hanauer, John Cunningham, and Dough Rowan. The company is similar to Curious Office's last project, ImageKind, which was sold to Cafepress.
