Microvision Gets $1M Contract From Lockheed Martin

Redmond-based Microvision, a developer of pico display technology, revealed Tuesday that the firm has been awarded a $1M subcontract from Lockheed Martin as part of a DARPA project to develop heads up displays to soldiers. According to Microvision, the award will go towards developing a daylight-readable, see-through eyewear display as part of DARPA's Urban Leader Tactical Response, Awareness & Visualization (ULTRA-Vis) program. The display is being targeted at providing information overlays to increase safety and situational awareness to soldiers in urban environments.
