Cray Gets $40M Contract

Seattle-based supercomputer maker Cray reported this week that it has gained a contract worth more than $40M from the Korea Meterological Administration (KMA). Cray said it will deliver a next-generation supercomputer to the agency, which will be used for numerical weather prediction. KMA is based in Seoul, South Korea. Cray said the multi-year, multi-phase contract will provide 600 teraflops of capacity, and will be complete in the second half of 2010.
