Verdiem Names Engineering VP

Seattle-based Verdiem, a developer of PC power management software, said Friday that John Scumniotales has joined the firm as Vice president of Engineering. Scumniotales joins the firm from Serena Software, where he was VP Products. He has also served at Pacific Edge Software and Rational Software. Current VP of Engineering Jerry Barber has become Chief Technology Officer at the company. Verdiem is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers.
