March Madness Drives Internet Traffic Spike, Says Integra

Portland-based Integra Telecom is reporting this morning that it is seeing a big Internet traffic spike--from its business customers--as a result of the March Madness basketball tournament. Integra said it saw web traffic increase by nearly 15 percent Thursday, compared to the prior two weeks, as the first round of the NCAA Division I "March Madness" tournament kicked off. Integra said it believes the Internet traffic spike is directly related to the kickoff of the tournament, and employees watching streaming online video.
