ActiveTrak Slates Android Launch

Portland-based ActiveTrak, a developer of products to track lost or stolen laptops, mobile phones, and other devices, said it will be launching products for the Android mobile phone OS later this month. The firm said it will show its GadgetTrak Mobile Security Software for Android at CTIA. ActiveTrak just announced a round of funding from ProtectCell, a provider of mobile phone warranty and handset protection products. ActiveTrak said its software will include both device tracking as well as backup of critical information from Android phones. The software also has a feature to remotely wipe data on the phone if that phone is lost or stolen. Pricing on the software was not released.
