Delve Gets Behind WebM

Seattle-based video hosting and publishing tools provider Delve Networks is getting behind the new WebM video format for video on the internet, the company said Wednesday afternoon. WebM--which was introduced by Google at its I/O conference Wednesday--is a replacement for H.264, the MPEG video standard. According to Delve, it joins Adobe, Google, Mozilla, YouTube, Opera, and other who are backing the new standard, which is free from licensing requirements and feeds. H.265 is owned by consortium MPEG-LA, which Delve says might ask for licensing fees from publishers in the future.
