Expedia Expands In Las Vegas

Bellevue-based travel site Expedia said Friday that it is expanding in Las Vegas, and is adding 130 new jobs to the location. According to Expedia, the expansion will boost its employment in Las Vegas to 500 employees. Those employees work on the company's varoius sites, including Expedia.com, Hotels.com and Egencia. Expedia said that the expansion comes as a result of the federal Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act, which was designed to create or restore employment to previously unemployed individuals. The travel site said that the new jobs include mostly mostly travel agents and support staff focused on its corporate travel arm, Egencia.
