IP Ventures, the program of Redmond-based Microsoft to spin out and license its technology to third party companies, said today it is celebrating its 5th anniversary, and highlighted local startups Zumobi, Sabi, Inrix, and others as some of the examples of recent successes of the program. Zumobi is a developer of next generation smartphones, which Microsoft said was built around Microsoft technology for consuming application on mobile phones. Sabi is a developer of children's learning games, and is based on technology for drawing recognition. Inrix provides traffic information and reports for commuters.
