Geocaching.com Launches Android App

Seattle-based Geocaching.com, an online site run by Groundspeak which is a clearinghouse for information about the growing sport of geocaching, said today that it has launched an Android application for the site. Geocaching is a sport where people use GPS receivers to find hidden "treasures" stashed in the real world, which users find, log, trade, and share online with others. Geocaching.com said the new application allows users access to the firm's database of more than 1.1 million geocaches worldwide, and costs $9.99. The new Android app is on top of an existing, iPhone application from the web site.
