Amazon Announces Kindle for Web

Seattle-based Amazon.com has finally released a version of the firm's Kindle electronic reader software for web users, the firm announced today. According to Amazon, it has released a beta of "Kindle for the Web", which allows users to read their Kindle books via the Amazon web site. The firm--which already offers up a host of different readers for various mobile platforms--said the new Kindle for the Web offering does not require installations or downloads, and also includes ability for bloggers and other website owners to embed samples of Kindle books into their own web sites. The firm said it would offer up referral fees to blog and website owners using those features.
