Cyber Monday Spending Over $1 Billion

Cyber Monday spending by consumers hit over $1 billion, according to the latest numbers from comScore today. According to the Internet traffic and e-commerce measurement firm, consumers spent $1.028 billion online, the heaviest online spending day in history on Monday, and the first to surpass one billion dollars. The day easily beat Black Friday, when $648M was spent by consumers online. Locally, the sales numbers are bound to be good news for Seattle's Amazon.com. So far this year, Amazon.com hasn't announced any details on its holiday spending; however, the firm in past years has commanded a major part of e-commerce sales figures. Amazon has been trading up near its yearly highs on the stock market this week, as investors have bid up the firm's stock on news of the e-commerce surge.
