Seattle Residents Plan To Spend Less This Holiday

A new survey released today by auditing and accounting firm Deloitte says that Seattle consumers plan to spend less than those nationally this holiday season. Deloitte, which did a nationwide survey of consumers, said its survey found consumers in Seattle plan to spend $979 on holiday shopping, compared to $1,160 nationally. That amount was among the least nationally, with only consumers in Minneapolis and Indiana planning to spend less. Deloitte said its sampled 12,418 consumers, with 519 of them in Seattle, giving its a margin of error of plus or minus one percentage point in its survey.
