Microsoft, Nokia In Mobile Partnership

Microsoft and Nokia said this morning that the two are in a strategic partnership, to create a "new global mobile ecosystem" focused around Microsoft's Windows Phone. According to the two, Nokia will adopt windows Phone as its smartphone strategy, contributing hardware design and language support, as well as targeting Windows Phone to a larger range of price points, market segments, and geographies. The two also said they would jointly market mobile products, tie in Bing to Nokia's search services, as well as connect Nokia Maps to Microsoft's own mapping services. Financial details of the strategic link were not disclosed.
