Rhapsody, MTV In Music Promotion

Seattle-based streaming music service Rhapsody and MTV Networks said today that the two are in a "massive" promotional and programming campaign, which will provide 60 days of free music service on Rhapsody. The two said the promotion will include the promotion of Rhapsody into MTV Networks programming and social media, and include MTV, MTV2, mtvU, Spike, Comedy Central, CMT, and Vh1. The deal includes tie-ins into specific shows such as Tosh.o, jersey Shore, and UFC. No details on the financial terms of the deal wre not disclosed. Rhapsody said it now has more than 750,000 subscribers, 100,000 of which have been added since it spun out of Real Networks in April.
