Blue Origin Gets $22M From NASA

Seattle-based Blue Origin, the commercial spaceflight firm backed by Jeff Bezos, has scored $22M in new funding from NASA, NASA said Tuesday. Blue Origin, which is developing commercial spaceflight technology, is one of four companies receiving grants as part of NASA's Commercial Crew Development (CCDev2) effort. NASA kicked off the effort in 2009, to spur the development of commercial technology for sending astronauts to space. Other firms receiving funding are Sierra Nevada Corporation, SpaceX, and Boeing.
