Expedia Ties With MasterCard On Gas Card Promotion

Bellevue-based travel booking site Expedia said today that it has inked a partnership with MasterCard, to use gas cards to promote summer travel. The firm said it will award free, $25 MasterCard prepaid gas cards to consumers who book a two-night stay with hotels and pay using MasterCard between June 6th and July 4th, or a $50 prepaid gas card for three nights or more. Expedia has been looking to push summer travel bookings with an array of free gifts and credits; the firm said it kicked off the campaign due to indications that Americans have been planning to stay close to home this summer instead of traveling.
