Microsoft Releases Kinect SDK

Redmond-based Microsoft said Thursday that it has released a software development kit (SDK) for its Kinect controller, which it is making available for free to non-commercial developers. The SDK gives developers access to the depth sensing, human motion tracking, and voice and object recognition from Kinect. The company said the new SDK is available for free on the Microsoft research web site.
