Seattle-based Amazon.com has launched a new, lending program for local libraries, the firm said today, allowing library users to check out books on their Kindle. Amazon said that its local library program has rolled out at more than 11,000 local libraries in the United States, allowing users to borrow library books, sending them wirelessly to their Kindle or any Kindle App, including those on Android, iPad, iPhone, and other platforms.
