Bill Gates Backs ResearchGate

Bill Gates is backing an online site focused on helping to connect scientists and the research community. According to ResearchGate, it received a new round of investment from Bill Gates and Tenaya Capital, along with Dragoneer Investment, Thrive Capital, Benchmark and Founders Fund. The firm, which is based in Cambridge, Mass. and Berlin, Germany, the new funding will help "lead science into the digital age." The firm's online service helps scientists share their publications, collaborate with peers, and more.
