Amazon Debuts New Mobile API For In-App Amazon Purchases

Seattle-based Amazon.com announced today that it has launched a new, mobile applications programming interface (API), which will let developers offer up products from Amazon.com in their mobile apps. Amazon.com said its new, Mobile Associates API runs on Kindle Fire and Android, and lets developers offer anything Amazon sells via their apps and games. Amazon said the API will let developers earn up to 6 percent on certain, in-app purchases from their users. The new API is an extension of the existing, affiliate programs that Amazon has offered for years to websites, bloggers, and others, providing some portion of a users' purchases back to referring websites.
