OpenSesame: Bite-Sized Training Perfect For Companies

Who says a short attention span is bad? Portland-based OpenSesame, the online training company backed by Partech Ventures, Harmony Investments, Angel Oregon, and others, says that it is specifically creating "bite-sized" learning videos to help employees retain more in their corporate and professional training. The company said that it has released 3,300 "bite-sized" courses--all of which are chunked into short, two-minute segments--through its service, on desktops, laptops, and some for mobile. The company cited studies showing that information provided in short segments can help employees better retain and master material. OpenSesame said the popularity of bite-sized "microlearning" is a result of the "bring your own device" (BYOD) movement.
