Spare5 Finds $3.25M

Seattle-based Spare5, a provider of an on-demand, mobile service which pays people for helping with image tagging and data cleanup on their spare time, has raised $3.25M in a seed funding, the company said this morning. The funding came from New Enterprise Associates, the Foundry Group, Madrona Venture Group and angels. Spare5's service lets experts do things such as tagging of images for companies. Two local companies--Porch.com and Getty Images--apparently are among the company's customers, using the firm's services. Spare5 was incubated at Madrona Venture Labs, and is led by Matt Bencke.
