Amazon Ups Ecommerce Ante With One Hour Delivery

Seattle-based Amazon.com is further upping the e-commerce delivery ante, saying this morning that it has launched one hour delivery through a new service called Prime Now. Amazon.com, which is initially launching the service in Manhattan, said the new service will offer up Prime members one hour delivery on tens of thousands of items through a mobile app. Amazon.com said it plans to expand to additional cities in 2015 after the initial launch in Manhattan. Amazon is tapping into its ever growing network of fulfillment centers for the service, which will offer up one hour delivery from 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. Amazon said it will offer up two hour delivery for free to Prime members, with one hour delivery available for only $7.99.
