Socrata Rolls Out New Platform

Seattle-based Socrata, which is backed by Sapphire Ventures, OpenView Venture Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures and Frazier Technology Partners, said it has launched a new product today, which it says specifically offers up its technology in the cloud. The company said its new Data-as-a-Utility platform offers up all the tools needed to capture, organize, store, and present government data to those who need to access it. Socrata is led by Kevin Merritt.
