Starbucks Pledges To Hire 10,000 Refugees

Howard Schultz, the CEO of Seattle-based Starbucks, said Monday that the coffee chain has pledged to hire 10,000 refugees, saying that "We are living in an unprecedented time, one in which we are witness to the conscience of our country, and the promise of the American Dream, being called into question." Schultz said that Starbucks has "a long history of hiring young people looking for opportunities and a pathway to a new life around the world" and that the company is "doubling down" on that commitment, among other efforts.
