Microsoft Backs DNAnexus For Genomic Data Management

Microsoft Corp. has made a strategic investment in Silicon Valley-based biomedical information and data management software provider DNAnexus, as part of a $58M in a financing round, DNAnexus said this morning. The funding was led by Foresite Capital, and also included a strategic investment by Microsoft, plus investments GV (formerly Google Ventures), TPG Biotech, WuXi NextCODE, Claremont Creek Ventures, and MidCap Financial. The company said the new funds go to accelerate expansion. The company develops technology used for biomedical informatics and data management. More information »
