Seattle's Mozy Sold To Carbonite In $145.8M Deal

Seattle-based online data protection and backup service Mozy--which was owned by Dell Technologies-- has been sold to data protection service Carbonite, in a deal worth $145.8M in cash, the companies said on Tuesday. Carbonite said the buy will go towards boosting its customer base. Dell acquired Mozy in 2007, later merging it with Kirkland-based Pi Corp., and set the headquarters for the combined company in Seattle, operating as Decho Corp.
