Vertex.AI Acquired By Intel

Seattle-based Vertex.AI, which develops the open source PlaidML machine learning software, has been acquired by Intel, the two companies said on Thursday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Vertex.AI said it has become part of Intel's Artificial Intelligence Group, and that Intel plans to continue develompent of PlaidML as an open source project. PlaidML's software allows for deployment of machine learning software across a variety of platforms. Intel said it will continue to hire in Seattle for AI experts.
