Pixvana Rolls SDK For VR Apps

Seattle-based Pixvana, the Vulcan Capital-backed startup developing immersive, virtual reality technology, said on Wednesday that it has open-sourced a software development kit (SDK). According to the company, the SDK allows third parties to incorporate its cloud services and VR video streaming technology into their own applications. Pixvana said the new Pixvana SPIN Play SDK is licensed under the Apache 2.0 license, letting developers plug Pixvana's tools into the popular Unity application development environment. Pixvana's backers include Vulcan Capital, and also included Raine Ventures, Microsoft Ventures, Cisco Investments, Heart Ventures, and Madrona Venture Group.
