Parallels Acquired By Corel

Seattle-based Parallels, the developer of cross-platform software which allows Mac users to run Windows apps, has been acquired by Ottawa-based Corel Corporation, the two announced on Thursday. Financial details of the buy were not announced. Corel said it will offer up Parallels' complete product line, including Parallels Desktop for Mac, Parallels Toolbox for Windows and Mac, Parallels Access, Parallels Mac Management for Microsoft SCCM, and Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS). Corel said it plans to make a "significant investment" in the Parallels business.
