Jeff Bezos Alleges Extortion Attempt By National Enquirer

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, alleges that the publisher of the National Enquirer threatened to publish naked pictures of him, if Bezos did not tell the Washington Post (which is owned by Bezos) to stop reporting on the company. In an open letter, Bezos said American Media (AMI), which published the National Enquirer, told Bezos it had a number of compromising photos of him (referred to as "dick pics") that it would publish unless Bezos stopped reporting on AMI's alleged "catch-and-kill" efforts. Bezos says those investigations show the owner of AMI, David Pecker, "has used the Enquirer and AMI for political reasons."
