    Strands Buys Expensr


    Corvallis, Oregon-based Strands, a provider of social recommendation software, said today that it has acquired Expensr, a provider of online personal finance applications. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. As part of the acquisition, Strands said it would launch a new site, moneyStrands, focused on personal money management. Strands said it would apply its social recommendation technology to moneyStrands, to help users get personalized recommendations for saving money and investing. The new service will also be available via mobile phone. Stands is backed by BBVA, Debaeque, Grupo Zeta, and Sequel Venture Partners, and was formerly known as MyStrands.
