SweetSpot Diabetes Care Acquired By DexCom

Portland-based SweetSpot Diabetes Care, which develops a cloud-based service which allows users of glucose meters to upload their device data, and which provides healthcare providers, patients, and researchers with better information for treating diabetes, has been acquired. DexCom, a manufacturer of continuous glucuse monitoring products, said it paid $4.5M plus up to $4M in earn out for SweetSpot. SweetSpot will remain in Portland. SweetSpot was angel backed by such investors as Dick Sass, Bill Trenchard and Alan Lefkof.
