    TeachStreet Launches Site

Seattle-based TeachStreet, an online web site focused on matching students with local teachers, launched Monday, and also revealed the full slate of the firm's investors today. The company, which was founded by Dave Schappell, who has formerly been at Amazon.com and online humor firm JibJab, revealed this morning that it had raised $2.25M in a Series A funding round led by Madrona Venture Group, Bezos Expeditions, and Seattle angel investors Jeff Blackburn, Michael George, Jason Kilar, Kim Rachmeler, Joel Spiegel, Erik Blachford, John Musser, and Dave Richards. Northwest Innovation had originally reported on the Series A funding round in March, when Schappell had declined to identify investors beyond Madrona Ventures. TeachStreet also said that it has added Scott Jacobson and Dave McClure to its board of directors.
