TIXIE Launches Live Music Tickets Startup

Wishing you could win a ticket for a local concert? Interested in learning about new bands? That's the idea behind Portland-based TIXIE, a new startup which said Wednesday that it has landed a new round of investment. Size of the investment, and source of the investment were not disclosed. TIXIE operates an online service that lets users find local concerts and events, and enter to win tickets to those shows. The firm is headed by Jeff Foster, who the firm says previously was CEO of Norton Motorcycles. TIXIE said it is currently offerings its service in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Athens, Seattle and Portland, with plans for 18 more cities by the end of the year.
