Tred Pulls Up With $1.7M

Seattle-based Tred, a startup developing an online service to help people set up and schedule test drives of new cars--and which wants to eventually help drive car sales for dealers--raised $1.7M Wednesday, from Maveron, Fraser McCombs Capital, Rick Wagoner (GM), Lowercase Capital, Founder's Co-Op, Great Oaks Venture Capital, and David Cohen of TechStars. Tred's service--which has yet to launch--allows users to select cars and schedule test drives outside of the traditional showroom. The firm was co-founded by Grant Feek and John Wehr.
