Univar Files For IPO

In the afterglow of a successful IPO yesterday by Silicon Valley firm, Tesla Motors, which Pacific Northwest firms are next up to the markets? The latest appears to be Redmond-based Univar--a distributor of specialty chemicals that was founded in 1924--which filed for an IPO this morning, saying it is looking to raise up to $862.5M on the markets. The firm's IPO is being underwritten by Goldman, Sachs & Co., BofA Merrill Lynch, Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank Securities, J.P. Morgan, and Morgan Stanley. Univar reports it had $7.194 billion in sales in 2009, according to the firm's S-1 filing.
