uZoom, Backed By Angels, Takes On Periscope In Live Streaming

Seattle-based startup uZoom, which is in the midst of developing a live streaming, mobile app, said today that it plans to launch its service this summer, beginning in Seattle, and eventually a launch in Rio De Janiero to coincide with the Summer Games. The startup--led by Dean Graziano--said it is developing a service which lets users request live, streaming video via an on-demand platform, which will compensate those streaming video--anonymously--at $0.50 per minute, or the equivalent of $30 per hour. The company said it is backed by Broadmark Capital and local angels, and completed a seed round earlier in the year. Graziano was previously founder of Lively (acquired by VNUE), and was co-founder and VP of Business Development at Visible Technologies.
