San Francisco-based private equity firm vector Capital said Friday morning that its offer for Bellevue-based Captaris has expired. Vector, which was offering $4.75 per share for Captaris, released a letter to the board of directors of Captaris, saying that the firm has expired the offer to "disabuse" Captaris of the assumption that their offer for the firm will remain open even while the firm looks for superior offers.
