Venture Investments Hits $5.27B, Says Report

Quarterly venture capital investment numbers were released over the weekend by Dow Jones VentureSource, with the firm saying that there was $5.27B invested across 595 deals nationally in the quarter. The amount of investments were down from $8.33B in 726 deals invested in Q2 of last year, but was a 32 percent increase from Q2 of 2009. Dow Jones said that Washington had $272M in 40 deals invested in the quarter.
