Verdiem Unveils Product, Wins Chicago, Honolulu

Verdiem Corp., a maker of PC power management software, said this morning that it has launched a new product and signed two new municipal government clients. The Seattle-based firm said its latest offering, the SURVEYOR Sustainability Dashboard, is a flexible reporting system that monitors how its flagship SURVEYOR application is driving bottom-line savings and benefiting the environment. SURVEYOR, Verdiem added, enables companies to centrally control and reduce the energy needed to power their personal computers. Verdiem identified its new customers as the city of Chicago and the city of Honolulu, Hawaii. Since deploying Verdiem's solution earlier this year, the company boasted, Chicago has reduced PC energy consumption by more than 30 percent. Honolulu has observed a similar reduction, Verdiem said. The financial impact of either customer win was not disclosed. Verdiem is backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
