WallyHome Releases Next Generation Home Sensing System

Seattle-based WallyHome, the smart home device maker which is now owned by Sears, said on Wednesday that it has launched its second generation, home monitoring system. The system--which uses a network of wireless sensors in a consumers' home to monitor doors, windows, monitors for leaking water systems, and more--said the updated product now detects water leaks in a home, tracks temperature changes to identify potential problems with heating and air conditioning, and more. WallyHome was acquired in 2015, when it acquired the technology for its sensors and device from Seattle-based startup SNUPI Technologies. That acquisition resulted in Sears placing a technology development team in Seattle, at a big campus at the University of Washington.
