Weston Presidio Buys VC Backed Firm

Weston Presidio, a growth capital provider based in San Francisco, has acquired Hillsboro, Oregon-based Micro Power Electronics. The firm said this week that it purchased the firm from Sierra Ventures and Palisades Ventures, two venture capital firms. Micro Power is developing portable power solutions for the medical, rugged handheld computing, and military equipment industry. The firm raised a round of venture capital funding in 2004, and has secured more than $14M in funding since its recap in 2004.
