Whrrl Dangles Prizes at SXSW

Mobile social networking service Whrrl, which is operated by Seattle-based Pelago, said Tuesday that it has over $125,000 in prizes it is giving away at the SXSW event in Austin, Texas this week. According to Whrrl, the prizes include two cars, VIP packages in Las Vegas, and much more, all associated with various parties and merchants involved with SXSW. Whrrl has been investing a lot of effort in various giveaways and contests on its service in the last few months, as it has been signing up advertisers for promotions through the mobile social networking site. SXSW, which is held in Austin every year, caters to Whrrl's technology-savvy, highly social, always-connected demographic.
